The Gulf Shores Alabama area is the perfect getaway any time of year especially if you are looking for an escape to warmer weather. The entire area is filled with great activities for indoor and outdoor days, incredible restaurants with fresh seafood, and more. With days spent exploring the community as well as lounging on the beach, you’re sure to need a great place to crash for the night so check out my top 3 places to stay.

Part of my stay was hosted by Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism. As always, all opinions are my own!

The Beach Club Spa & Resort

The Beach Club Spa & Resort is brought to you by Spectrum Resorts and packs in many amenities. The location is more secluded than other options and provides a more relaxing atmosphere for those looking to get away from traffic congestion. Condos range from 2 bedrooms to 4 bedrooms each facing the Gulf of Mexico and offering a private balcony for exceptional views every day.

The Beach Club Spa & Resort offers many amenities you won’t find anywhere else. Each condo tower has its own outdoor pool and hot tub area with lounge chairs to relax all day. The Clubhouse offers an indoor pool and a larger main outdoor pool and is the only one that is heated year-round but its expansive size ensures you’ll never feel crowded by other visitors during your stay. Whether you’re looking to stay active during your vacation, relax, or do a little bit of both The Beach Club Spa & Resort delivers on all of it. You’ll find a full fitness room available, tennis and pickleball courts, walking trails, a golf simulator, sauna and steam rooms, and of course their recently renovated spa. On-site dining and shopping options are available as well so you never have to leave your condo area during your stay.

If the extensive amenities weren’t enough, it wouldn’t be a top place to stay if they didn’t offer some of the best beach access in the area. With multiple access points, you’ll find yourself walking through the soft white sands of the Alabama beaches in no time.

The Lodge at Gulf State Park

Located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and within Gulf State Park you’ll find The Lodge, an eco-friendly resort offering more than just a great place to stay but sustainability to the area as well. The Lodge at Gulf State Park prides itself on working towards a more sustainable tourism industry and works endlessly to protect native plant species and protect turtle nesting areas.

Rooms provide comfortable bedding, eco-friendly recycled aluminum water bottles, as well as eco-friendly bath amenities from toilet paper to the shampoos in the shower. The Lodge offers 2.5 miles of beachfront access so you can stick your toes in the sand and a couple of great dining options. Start your day with a coffee from Roasted Oak in the lobby area(also a wine bar at night) or head to the best breakfast buffet in the area at Foodcraft. Other restaurants aren’t far away as a walk across the street gets you into the rest of Gulf State Park where you can grab a bike from their bikeshare program and explore the many trails, dining options, and park rentals such as segways, kayaks, and more.

Other onsite amenities include a year-round infinity pool, poolside bar, yard games, and lounge chairs to relax. When booking, keep in mind there are Gulf of Mexico facing rooms as well as rooms facing Lake Shelby in the state park. Gulf of Mexico rooms typically offer a private balcony as well, even on the first floor.

Turquoise Place by Spectrum Resorts

No doubt about it, I’ve saved the best for last! Turquoise Place is the absolute best place you could stay when vacationing in the Gulf Shores area. Not only is the location right in the heart of the community, offering quick and easy access to extensive dining options, but the condos can’t be beaten.

Turquoise Place offers two large towers of condos right along the beachfront. Each tower offers its own pass-protected parking, indoor heated pool, sauna & steam rooms, and fitness room. Amenities offered between the two towers include an outdoor lazy river, tennis and pickleball courts, a playground, a large outdoor pool, a lounge, beach chair rentals, and its brand new amenities deck that features a splash pad, putting green, and 300-foot waterslide.

The thing that really makes Turquoise Place stand out is the rooms themselves. Each condo offers large spacious rooms and open concept kitchen and living room space with high ceilings. The full-size kitchen offers top-of-the-line appliances, a dishwasher, a wine fridge, and even an ice machine so you’ll never run out of ice to keep your drinks cool. However, nothing beats walking out onto your private balcony facing the Gulf of Mexico and getting into your balcony hot tub, a feature available for every single condo.

At Turquoise Place, you’ll never have to leave the property if you want to relax and stay in. They offer beachfront access like many other resorts making it easy to enjoy the sun and the sand and their full kitchen and patio grill offer the option to save a little money by cooking your own meals during your stay. Many activities are available throughout the week, depending on the season, including fun informational sessions, bingo nights, and many activities and crafts for kids.

No matter where you choose to stay in the Gulf Shores area you are sure to have an incredible time but if you’re looking to create an even better experience these three options are sure to make it even more memorable.
