If you’re a busy traveler like me you know how important it is to make things easier and simpler for your every day lifestyle. When we travel we deal with bugs, frozen windshields in the winter, fogging with temperature changes, and more. This is where Nano Magic comes in! Photo from https://nanomagic.com Nano Magic uses Nanotechnology to create top of the line anti fog, screen care, lens care, and auto solutions to make life easier. The company sent me the Lens Cleaner and I have to say my glasses and sunglasses have never stayed streak free for so long! These 2 in 1 anti fog and lens cleaner wipes are perfect for on the go! You can stuff them in your suitcase, carry on, purse, lunch box, and so much more! And best yet? They really work! No better way to test them then being out in the North Dakota…
As we wrap up the finals days in Florida from our 2 week trip we have a very important trip to make to the east coast of Florida. We stopped at a gas station right away and as someone who doesn’t have what I call all these “fancy” gas stations in North Dakota it always blows my mind when I can get a 52oz slushie for under $2(or get one from a gas station at all). It’s probably good we don’t have them here or I would have one every day because slushies are my weakness. So our drive to the east coast of the state was to surprise my grandma! She didn’t know we were there so we drove over to surprise her on our last full day. It was hilarious because she is basically a hermit so we kept knocking on the door and ringing the door bell…
One of my favorite days of the month is Helix Wine Club Night! The 2nd Thursday of every month Helix Wine & Bites hosts a wine club from 5pm-8pm and it is always a great time. I usually show up early to save a table for my friends and myself since the place is PACKED on wine club night. With $5 glasses of house wine and 20% off all appetizers and small plates I tend to have dinner there each time and get a little head start on the wine 🙂 The house sweet white is a Moscato(my fav) so needless to say I love it. I noticed some newer menu items this time around so I tried out the Firecracker Shrimp flatbread and it was seriously amazing. Jumbo shrimp, layers of cheese, and some spice made this flatbread come together really well. However, I will say far too much…
This winter I got to check out the new-ish restaurant in Grand Forks, Crooked Pint. They took over the old Green Mill location(I miss their spinach dip like no one will understand) so I was curious to see what they were going to offer. Service was pretty good considering how new they were at the time. Lets be real, I normally try to give places a few months before checking them out because there are usually a few things to work out during that period. My friend and I got there right at the end of Happy Hour so I was able to take advantage of a small discount on my order. If you don’t know me yet you should know I take serious judgement on how a place prepares their soft pretzels and beer cheese. If it’s on the menu I’m ordering it the first time I’m there and…
So this last quarter of the year we don’t have much travel as we are saving up for LOTS of travel in 2018 so to keep things rolling I’m mixing in some travel I haven’t blogged about yet with locally owned restaurants from my hometown of Grand Forks, ND. I had a meeting for the local pageant I run earlier this week and we decided to check out the new brewhouse, Half Brothers Brewing Company. Their menu had something called a Bacon Flight on it so I was obviously intrigued right away. The place has a really good casual vibe right when you walk in and you can see where they are brewing the beer. It was pretty busy so we sat near the back where they have a small stage area. I’m personally not a beer drinker but everyone else I was with said it was great. Apparently the…
